Membership
eligibility and facility access guidelines
“All persons
who use the Long Island FOLIC camp facilities must be a member of the
FOLIC in accordance with the types of memberships indicated below or be
sponsored as a guest of a member. Memberships must be renewed annually
and can be purchased in the form of annual season passes, weekly passes
or daily passes. Please refer to the FOLIC website page for membership
fee information.

1. The following may
be granted annual Full Member status with all rights and privileges of
the Friends of Long Island Camp (FOLIC):
- RCMP Employees
- Retired RCMP employees
(Regular Members, Civilian Members and Public Service Employees) who
have completed a minimum of 20 years with the RCMP
- Former members
of the RCMP who became members of CSIS in 1984
- Widows or widowers
of the above mentioned, currently receiving an RCMP pension
2. Full Members will
- Have voting privileges
- Be eligible to
take part in the annual seasonal draw for trailer sites
- Be given first
choice to reserve a cabin prior to the15th of June each year

1. The following may
be granted annual Associate Member status:
- Children and Grandchildren
of Full Members of FOLIC
- CSIS members after
1984
- A person sponsored
by a Full Member
- Other Police or
Military Police forces in the National Capital Region.
- Temporary employees
and long term contractors of the RCMP if sponsored while employed if
sponsored by a Full Member
2. Associate members
will:
- Be entitled to
rent a campsite on an availability basis after Full Members have completed
their site draw
- Be entitled to
rent a cabin after the 15th of June.
General:
- One (1) family
per trailer site or cabin
- One (1) trailer
per site
- One (1) tent per
site, space permitting
- Adult family members
and/or friends of Full or Associate Members, 21 years of age and older,
may use that Member's campsite or cabin at no extra charge, providing;
- authorization
is given by the camper
- approval by
the Facility Manager
- Family or friends
of Full or Associate Members (under the age of 21) must:
- have a sponsor
on site if they are not accompanied by an adult
- be approved
by the Facility Manager

Visitor Access
to Long Island:
- If you are expecting
visitors, please provide their names to the duty person on gate security.
- Family and friends
are welcome to visit the host campers at their campsite at no charge.
- if
your guests utiize the Camp facilities (pool, playground, tennis
courts, showers etc) you will be expected to purchase a "Day
Pass" for your guests
- The host camper
should ensure the number of people on site is reasonable and does not
affect the privacy and peace of their neighbours.
- Serving RCMP employees
travelling on vacation, transfer, or house hunting, etc, requiring a
campsite for a limited duration (1 or 2 days) will be accommodated.
Every effort will be made not to interfere or inconvenience current
campers on site.

Cabin registration:
When trailer
site demand exceeds available trailer sites, the following guidelines
will be utilized in an effort to meet the need.
- Site reallocation
will be priortized in the following order:
- Family friends
- Associate
Members
- Full Members
- Full Members
are guaranteed a minimum of two weeks on site.
- Associate Members
are guaranteed a minimum of one week on site
- Family friends
and relatives rent sites on a limited duration basis.
Overflow
Sites:
Will be allocated
as follows on a need basis:
- To any unit (trailer
or tent) if all other sites are taken
- These sites will
only be utilized at the discretion of the Facility Manager.
