On behalf of the "Friends of Long Island Camp" we wish to take this opportunity to welcome you to our website.

The "Friends of Long Island Camp." , is a duly incorporated non-profit legal entity established on the 24th May 2001, by a number of current and retired employees of the Force and their families, for the purpose of establishing a new administrative arrangement with respect to the management and operation of the Long Island Camp Facility.

The Long Island Camp Facility is a multi-purpose employee recreation, training, community-based policing and public relations facility, located near Ottawa on approximately 10 acres of land on the eastern shore of the Rideau River at the north end of Long Island.

The property was acquired by the Force in 1941, and was originally used as a summer camp for employees of the Force and their families. While employee recreation continues to be the primary use during the summer months; the site is used by the Force for meetings, training sessions, delivery of community-based policing events, and hosting Force-sponsored public relations events with groups such as the Cubs, Scouts, Guides, Brownies, area schools, service and church groups.

We offer Full Membership and Associate Membership to those persons who meet the eligibility guidelines. The facility is also available for meetings, training, and social events for Corporate and Community use within the National Capital Region.

Please take a few minutes of your time to browse our website; view the pictures, see what the facility offers, as well as other related information. We are always interested in receiving any feedback regarding the website and from persons who have historical pictures of the camp or other information they may wish to share.

In closing, we indeed appreciate the continued Corporate support as well as the interest and support of those who enjoy and use the Long Island Camp Facility.

Thank you.
