For our out of town visitors Highway 417 (West) exit at Boundary Road exit 96, turn right onto Mitch Owens Road to River Road (AKA "Four Corners"). Turn right on River Road, watch for a large green sign, "Long Island Locks" Federal Park turn left @ (Nichols Island Road)and follow this road for about 200 metres and take the first right (visible signage at this intersection). Follow this road to the camp. Highway 401(East or West) exit at Hwy 416 North to Ottawa. Manotick sign turn right, to community of Manotick to Bridge St. Bridge St. to River Road, turn left. Drive north on River Road for 4km. Watch for a large green sign, "Long Island Locks" Federal Park (Nichols Island Road). Turn left about 200 metres and take the first right (visible signage at this intersection). Follow this road to the camp. |
From Ottawa: Riverside Drive south from the Queensway. Riverside Drive follows the river. Continue past the airport, continue straight another 1 km to the first traffic light and make a right hand turn on to River Road continue about 9 Km and you will see a tiny hamlet called "Melrow Meadows". Watch for a blue sign on the right hand side, Nicholls Island Road. Turn right and continue for about 200 meters and take the first right (visible sign age at this intersection). Follow this road to the camp. Total travel time from HQ is about 25 minutes. From Richmond: Take Eagleson Road south to Bankfield, to Main Street in Manotick. Turn right at Main Street and left at Bridge Street. Bridge Street turn left at River Road. Drive north on River Road for 4km; you will enter the small hamlet of Melrow Meadows. Watch for a large green sign, "Long Island Locks" Federal Park (Nicolls Island Road). Turn left about 200 metres and take the first right (visible signage at this intersection). Follow this road to the camp. |
